A Call for Service

Why Serve?

Christians are Called to Serve

“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” 1 Peter 4:10

“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:10

It Is Part of Church Membership

“Membership involves commitment, testimony and ministry … We believe that all church members should be ministers. We have all been given a spiritual gift by God to be used in the local assembly.”

Children

  • We offer nursery for infants Birth - 3 years old. If you’d like to volunteer, you will be placed in a schedule and will serve in the nursery once a month (at the service of your preference). For the safety of our children, you do need to be a member or active participant at the church to serve in the nursery.

  • Have a heart for music? Can you build sets, create costumes or props? We need you!

  • Sunday Nights are for Kidz Life! We divide kids up into groups based on age. You’ll assist a small group in working through their lesson book, reciting Bible verses, etc.

  • We ask teachers to take one quarter of the year (3 months). You’ll lead a group of children (we have different groups based on age) in a lesson, activity, craft, etc. We will provide you with the curriculum and any guidance/support you may need.

You don’t need to be an experienced teacher, you just need to be willing to serve!

Adults

  • We ask teachers to teach for one quarter of the year (3 months). You may teach on a book of the Bible, topic, etc.

  • The worship team serves at 8:15 and 10:30 am on Sunday mornings. You will be put into a rotation (so won’t be serving every week of the month). There is also a mid-week practice (currently on Wed. after church)

  • We need people to run lyrics, slides, and video on Sunday mornings and evenings! It’s super easy - all you have to do is press a key on the keyboard. :)

  • Looking for experinced sound/light techs OR those wiling to be trained! Spots available on Sunday mornings and Sunday/Wednesday evenings.

MISC.

  • We need volunteers to take meals to new moms, elderly, sick and shut-in. You will be placed on a list to be contacted - you will be able to decide which opportunities to take (pick your date/time)

  • Greeters are the face of or church for visitors and current attendees alike. You will welcome people in, offer a bulletin, and answer questions as needed. You’ll be put on a schedule so will only need to serve once a month at the service of your choice.

  • The current leader of Union Rescue Mission lunches had to step down. We are looking for someone who would be able to organize a group of people to bring food and serve lunch at the Rescue Mission once a month. More details on request!

  • We need a team of people willing to clean our guest house before and after visitors. Visitors are typically missionaries or pastors.

Putting your name on the list does not mean you will be called every time - the more people we have, the more we can distribute the work!
